Ghassoul origins…
From Morocco the rhassoul-ghassoul is a clay mineral powder. Its first traces date back to the 13th century when it was used during the hammam ritual. Its name meaning “to wash” (saponiferous clay). The rhassoul is an excellent natural purifier and cleanser. It is thus used from generation to generation by oriental women for body and hair cares during beauty routines. It is now a must during hammam sessions, just like black soap and the Kessa glove.
The ghassoul won’t attack the face, body and hair is purifying. The rhassoul-ghassoul contains many minerals such as magnesium, zinc, phosphorus, iron, sodium, potassium components with very beneficial properties for the skin.

The rhassoul is full of benefits thanks to its cleansing, absorbing, purifying and softening actions. This type of clay is ideal for gently cleansing the skin, eliminating imperfections and impurities (pollution, dust, sebum excess, make-up residue, etc.) and enhancing the complexion. The skin texture is thus refined. It is a product recommended for damaged hair fiber by sebum excess, particularly suitable for oily hair and followers of no-poo, this method which consists of washing your hair by reducing the quantity of shampoo.
How to use the rhassoul ?
The rhassoul-ghassoul can be used in many ways. As a cleanser, simply mix a small amount of powder with water. Apply to the face in a thin layer on wet skin for a pose of 1 to 2 minutes.
As a face mask : mix in a bowl a tablespoon of rhassoul-ghassoul, two tablespoons of floral water and a teaspoon of vegetable oil of your choice. An orange powder can be added for its astringent and toning properties. Leave the mask on for 10 minutes then rinse with clear water.
As a shampoo, it will be ideal for washing your hair. Opt for three tablespoons of rhassoul, two tablespoons of water, a teaspoon of vegetable oil and a teaspoon of honey. Apply your shampoo to all of the previously moistened hair. Insist well on the scalp and ends then leave on for 10 minutes before rinsing.
